Poffle Boffle

Created in Unity 5

Poffle Boffle is a two player, twin-stick shooter where you battle each other to become the champion of the clouds.  The player can collect power-ups to better attack their opponent whilst tackling the elements and ever-changing environment.

About the Game

Choose your Poffle to compete in the Boffle! Carefully aim and fire at your opponent and knock them out of the sky.  Dodge the incoming lightning storms and strategically knock your enemy into them to better your score!

Earn Poffle Power Points to gain power-ups, and you can use them to your advantage to seriously knock back your opponent!

The Poffle power-ups available in the Boffle are:

POWER SHOT: All the best bits of your usual ammo, but with the added bonus of being SUPER strong. The power shot can send your enemy flying backwards with incredible force! Be careful though, with great power comes great recoil!

BOUNCY CLOUD: Send your enemy bouncing off unexpectedly when they're trying to land a risky jump with the bouncy cloud power-up! Stuck on a cloud with no way of reaching the next one? No problem! Use bouncy cloud to launch yourself upwards and on to victory!*                             (*victory not guaranteed!)

EXPLOSIVE SHOT: Fire an explosive powered shot at your enemy to deal some serious stun damage! Be careful though, if your aim is off you could get caught in the shock wave that follows!

Poffle Boffle is the second game that I have made independently and outside of university. I wanted to make a multiplayer game as this provided me with the challenge of working out how to make the game system handle multiple inputs. I also learnt from the mistakes of Arcade Run and created individual scenes for choosing your Poffle, the game and the victory scene as this allowed the game to run more smoothly.

My main goal when making this was to create something which felt very polished in ideally all areas, and to test out new methods which I'd previously not done before. These include controller input, controller UI interaction, and  day/night cycles, amongst various other things.

My Thoughts on the Game
